After a crazy November, where my roof blew off in Hurricane Sandy, a frantic move and many long hours at work, I finally stole some time and got these guys done.
There a bunch of simple conversions, a few torso and head swaps. Adds enough variety to them to be interesting. Also included is one of the Forge World renegade psykers.
Finished up 3 of the Chaos Chosen from Dark Vengeance. Great models to assemble, incredible how the mold maker made these, and pretty fun to paint. You could spend a long time on these guys if you wanted to.
I tried to play off that these bad dudes have been hanging around in the warp for aeons, and thusly, their armour has seen better days. They may get some sort of icon on their open shoulder pad, but we'll see.
Picked these guys up and made some solid progress despite dying brushes... 2 new Raphael Size 0s are on the way.
Rhino and Razorback completed.
The final Tactical squad.
And this dude from the Battle for Macragge, protecting...whatever is in the flasks.
I grabbed this box a while back as a spare and have found that it should go to someone else. It's missing a model or 2, so not complete, but pics show what you'd get.
Looking to get $150 USD shipped for the lot.
Second one built and undercoated. Both received salt weathering.
The first was upgraded with nose shootas and an R2 unit for targeting.
The second received some Forgeworld shootas and relocated nose cannons.
Thunderfire cannon and a kit-bashed techmarine.
Techmarine was built from 2nd edition Devastator legs, a Forge World torso, Chronus' head, a techmarine right arm and a plastic left arm with metal shoulder pad. Backpack is from Chronus as well (I believe). And a FW purit seal for good measure.
5 more marines and a banner bearer. Banner comes form the 25th Anniversary marine, and was grafted onto the old 3rd edition banner bearer.
Still need to do Tac markings on these guys.
That's right, modern (mostly) models.
Doing an army of these up this summer as quick as I can. These 10 figs took about 5 hours, including lunch, buggering about and drying time.
Added a new display case, nice, wall mounted unit, with room for a ton of figs. I'm basically able to fit them 3 deep if needed and the shelves are removable if i need to get more tall models in.
It really is amazing the plethora of figures GW made back in the day.
Below you see; Cyborgs, downed Pilots, 2 Marauder Tech Gangers, a psyker, the astropath from Talisman, and everyone's favorite Commissar.
I started playing Warhammer 40K around 1997, dabbling in Fantasy, Gorkamorka, Mordhiem, but my true passion is 40K and as such, has brought me to collect the models I started playing with. So, you'll see a lot of 2nd edition (and older) on here.
