I started this guy ages ago and finally got around to finishing him. Pretty happy with it, and one of these days I'll paint up some friends for him to hang out with.
First, I sprayed this guy red, with the army painter dragon red spray. Then, a wash of devlan mud, highlighted that with straight blood red, and then a highlight 50/50 of blood red and wild rider red.
I started playing Warhammer 40K around 1997, dabbling in Fantasy, Gorkamorka, Mordhiem, but my true passion is 40K and as such, has brought me to collect the models I started playing with. So, you'll see a lot of 2nd edition (and older) on here.
I love how vivid he is. The 90's throwback base is a little disappointing though.
ReplyDeleteI get that a lot, but the basing is as large a part of the models vibe as the paint job.
DeletePart of me loves how it irks people so much, but for me, it's 2nd edition, it can't be any other way.
He looks great. I've done one test Berzerker myself and I have to say that working in so much red is rough. What's your approach with red?

DeleteAnd that's it, 3 easy steps.
Gotcha. Does the Army Painter Dragon Red closely match GW's Blood Red (or whatever the new color is now)? Just thinking for touch-ups and such.
DeleteNot sure honestly, though I think it's pretty close. You could always pick up a bottle of the AP color matched paint.
